The Sepulchre of Jesus

So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.
Mark 15:46,47  ESV

It is believed Joseph of Arimathaea made this sepulchre for himself.

There is evidence that the tomb was hurriedly extended to accommodate a taller body being about 5'11 (confirming with Matthew 28) because the Sabbath was approaching.

Here is a close up of the sepulchre of Jesus showing the grave area to be cut out for Jesus body as Jesus was taller than Joseph of Arimathea.

This was the normal practise, to cut out the tomb to fit the size of the person after there death. This is how we know the tomb was used.
